As a result of the changes to the maritime security requirements (MSIC), Fremantle Ports undertook a security assessment of both their inner & outer harbour areas. This assessment showed that with their existing 12 track sliding gates and cyclone fencing an upgrade would be required due to the increased traffic of heavy vehicle and containers movements in and out of the port. A number of options were presented to the Fremantle Ports and from these they selected the Delta Sliding Cantilevered Gates offered by Magnetic Automation in Perth. The selection was made on the basis of the modular gate design which offered sliding gates that could be: · easily assembled on site · maintenance free with no in ground tracks · fast delivery times to site as no fabrication was required The final brief by Fremantle Ports was to supply, install and commission entry & exit Delta Cantilever Gates operated with our MSL 20 high speed and high duty cycle drive motor and controller together with our MPT 13 full height turnstile. The installation of Palisade security fencing to replace the original cyclone fencing was also required around the Port perimeter. To date Magnetic Automation have completed 4 entrances, 3 at the Fremantle Port site and 1 at their Kwinana site (20 minutes south of Fremantle).
