Magnetic has been appointed as the supplier for the “air gate” to the Petronas Twin Tower located in Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). This building is one of the tallest twin towers worldwide and the most popular landmark of Malaysia. Some years ago Magnetic Control Systems Sdn. Bhd. realized successfully the installation of 34 lanes bi-directional pedestrian retractable barriers, type MPR in especially designed stainless steel housings at the Petronas Twin Tower in Kuala Lumpur. These barriers have been working very well and for this reason it was beyond all question that Magnetic was awarded the contract through a local system integrator to upgrade these barriers in 2006. The project involved replacement of motors, controllers and flaps and it was the first time that all parts such as lever arm, flap and brackets were sourced, fabricated and assembled locally. The upgrading works were completed within 3 months and even ahead of schedule.
Usually the Magnetic products are part of a complex access control solution. They are used together with proximity readers to control vehicle and pedestrian access. Reliability and secure operation are essential for the oil and gas industry.
