Magnetic Autocontrol Pvt. Ltd. (MAI), Chennai, India, has been awarded a prestigious contract to equip Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) with special vehicle and pedestrian access systems. With a total value of 1.25 million euro, this bumper order consists of various barrier types and gates for the KG-D6 pipeline project. As Ravi Shankar, MAI Sales Director explains, “For our organization it is an honor to work together with this company. Reliance Industries Ltd. is the largest private-sector enterprise in India and features in the Fortune Global 500 list.” Magnetic's success hinged on the fact that the Reliance Group was already using pedestrian and vehicle access control systems from Magnetic for site security at an industrial facility. Their proven reliability and low maintenance requirements – and hence minimum operating costs – were the crucial factors that swayed RIL's investment decision. “Above all, our customers value the direct presence of the Magnetic Autocontrol Group in India. We adapt our products to suit local requirements, and can therefore react very quickly to meet the individual needs of Indian customers. We know the Indian market, and are represented locally all over the subcontinent by a network of partners,” adds Ravi Shankar. The Magnetic Autocontrol Group also has a factory at Pondicherry, two hours by road south of Chennai (Madras), where both standard products and individually customized solutions are manufactured in compliance with German quality assurance guidelines.
