Requirements to the Barrier

     - Boom - Widths up to 6,5 m
     - Automatic opening in case of power failure
     - Barrier boom in glass fiber reinforced plastic
     - Reflex foil like the railway barrier
     - Connection of the earth potential of the tram to the barrier housing
     - Drive of the barrier from the signalling equipment
     - Potential free indication OPEN / CLOSED
     - Monitoring loop under the barrier boom
     - Fault message from the barrier

        

Realization of the Requirements

     - MTS 6 barriers with 6 sec. running time
     - Equipped with the complete spring - package for the automatic opening in case of power failure
     - Plan has been changed later, according request of the customer, because also during voltage
        loss, the road must be blocked

Barrier boom - Special version

     - Starting from shaft to 2,5 m: 8 edge alu profile
     - Maximum 4 m glass fiber reinforced round boom, diameter 70 mm 

       

Earth potential of the Railway

     - Earth from the power supply only connected to the MUB control unit
     - Complete barrier housing is on the earth potential of the railway
     - Separation of the potentials via isolation of the motor winding
     - Sheet metal parts must be fastened with screws to the housing
     - Flanged shaft must be grounded

Control unit

     - MUB 3A-173 with auto reset mode 4
     - Fault message, when 24 V driving voltage is missing of the control unit MUB
     - Indication OPEN / CLOSED via limit switch on the flanged shaft
     - MID for the safety loop

Advantages with Barrier - Solution

     - Traffic regulation is more secure than only with a signalling equipment
     - Cheaper than a subway
     - Magnetic barriers are cheaper than the standard Federal Railway barrier
