Access Control at Volkswagen

Magnetic Autocontrol and Volkswagen have many things in common, both organizations have a long tradition in their industry, both emphasize on innovative technology, and the vehicle barrier cannot be without the automobile and visa versa.

The “Gläserne Manufaktur” is the new manufacturing plant in Dresden (Germany) where VW manufactures its new luxury sedans. The “Phaeton“ is assembled using high-tech manual labor such as Magnetic does with its products.

The “Gläserne Manufaktur“ has chosen Magnetic barriers and Magnetic’s access control system for its visitor parking, employee parking and delivery entry.

The Magnetic visitor parking access does not allow any unauthorized entry on the premises

The Entry and Exit lane to and from the visitor parking area are controlled by two Magnetic MIB30 barriers and Magnetic MEC10 control columns. Integrated in this solution is a Magnetic car-park Count and Control System with a space count display.

The MBT entry ticket issuing station allows the visitor to enter the facility by issuing a “on the fly” printed ticket upon request and supports the operation through an intercom station. The Exit lane is supplied with a token acceptor, which allows the visitors to leave with a previously received token. Parkers who do not have a token must visit the parking office. The authorities at the parking office determine whether the parker was authorized to use the visitor parking facility. If the parker was authorized he or she does not have to pay for parking, all others have to pay. This solution provides a cost-effective and secure system allowing visitors to use the Volkswagen parking facility at no cost while unauthorized users have to pay.

Employees park in the parking garage

Two Magnetic MIB30 barriers and two MEC10 control columns with integrated transponders allow only authorized Volkswagen employees to enter the modern parking garage.

Delivery entry controlled by security guard

The entry and exit of delivery vehicles is controlled and monitored by security guards. Equipped with a Magnetic MIB40 barrier with a 20FT arm and pendulum support the security guard can easily control the entry and exit using a Magnetic MKI control panel.
