STG High Impact Anti Intrusion Gates at Essendon Airport

In response to current security upgrades at major entry points into Australia, Magnetic Automation Pty Ltd has been involved in various access control projects around Australia involving airports and ports.

Magnetic Automation, Melbourne was awarded the contract to supply and install security gates

and pedestrian access gates for the security upgrade of Essendon Airport in Metropolitan Melbourne.

The turnkey project was completed over a two month period and included:

·    5 high security STG high impact anti intrusion cantilevered slide gates.

·    1 set of dual swing gates.

·    2 full height pedestrian turnstiles.

·    1 wheelchair access swing gate at the airport terminal incorporated with biometric scanner.

·    1 Supply and installation of a speed hump.

·    Full upgrade of safety features on all 3 existing Magnetic Automation gates.

·    Supply and installation of Armco protective barriers to all gates.

·    Supply and installation of approximately 125 metres of cyclone chain wire mesh fencing.

·    Full integration with new access system.

·    All civil works, including concrete foundations & roadway & footpath asphalting.

·    All gates required appropriate signage & line marking.

·    All trenching, cabling and 240v supply and connection for all equipment.

The system required was a security lock where card is swiped at first gate, once entered. The second gate will not open until first gate is completely closed
